Women Civil Society Organization (WCSO) Project – Advancing Women’s Economic Empowerment
The Women Civil Society Organization (WCSO) project, implemented by the Women Empowerment in Self-Sufficiency Organization (WEFSO) with the support of UN Women, represents a continued commitment to strengthening women’s economic empowerment and community resilience.
Project Scope
Building on the successful outcomes of the previous Small Grant and guided by recommendations from UN Women, WEFSO implemented the WCSO project to further expand its impact in supporting women and girls.
Through this initiative, women and girls participated in structured training programs focused on small business management and livelihood development. The program was designed to ensure accessibility and inclusive participation, providing a supportive environment for learning and growth.
Participants engaged in continuous capacity-building activities that enhanced their practical skills, strengthened their confidence, and encouraged peer learning and collaboration.
Impact
The project contributed to improving participants’ ability to initiate and manage income-generating activities, supporting their journey toward economic independence. It also fostered personal development, increased self-confidence, and strengthened social connections among women and girls.
Overall, the initiative reinforced WEFSO’s role in delivering community-centered, sustainable interventions that promote women’s empowerment and resilience.
