Women’s economic independence is a powerful driver of social transformation, and WEFSO is dedicated to creating meaningful livelihood opportunities for women and girls across Afghanistan. Our programmes focus on enhancing women’s income-generation capacity, building market-relevant skills, and supporting access to sustainable economic resources. Through vocational training, entrepreneurship workshops, and small business development support, we equip women with the knowledge and tools they need to start or expand home-based enterprises. We prioritise sectors that are culturally acceptable, in-demand, and financially viable, ensuring that women can earn safely within their communities. WEFSO also facilitates access to micro-grants, savings groups, and local market linkages to strengthen women-led businesses and create diverse income streams. For widows, survivors of violence, and women from low-income households, our tailored economic empowerment packages provide a pathway to financial stability and dignity. Beyond technical training, we focus on building women’s confidence, leadership abilities, and decision-making power within their families. By engaging community elders and male family members, we promote acceptance of women’s economic roles and reduce barriers to participation. Our livelihood programmes contribute not only to individual income but also to the economic resilience of entire communities.
